Looking for a romantic city break in Europe?

Q. Hi! Where would you recommend- from your own experience- as a romantic city in Europe for a short break?

Money isn't too much of an issue as it's to be a once in a lifetime, fairytale escape. A 5* hotel and the best restaurants are on the cards... But where?

The only cities off limits are London and Paris. We are hoping to go sometime in Dec/ Jan so either somewhere that offers winter sun, or somewhere that looks beautiful in the frost!

Thanks.

A. Madrid, Marrseilles, Barcelona, Rome, Vienna, Malta, Heraklion (on Kreta), Dusseldorf, Venice, Lloret de Mar (amazing Spanish beach place), York, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Bruges, Antwerp...

I'm going to stay three days in Bruges with my family, which places do you recommend us to go to?
Q. After that, we're going to Brussels. I would like to know what do you recommend us to do IN Bruges.

A. Good choice both cities are wonderful. we went many places, but in brugge i suggest touring the canals on boat, touring the zots brewery (must be over 18 i think, and you get a free glass!!), going to the hotel chocostory (spelling? and i think that ones in brugge, but maybe brussels...) which is all about chocolate, visiting the toy stores, visiting the large, ornate churches (one has the madona and child in it--idk if its the original), and the art museums. i guess this is a lot of info for a few days, but good luck, have fun, and be safe!!!

What's the most charming city in the Loire Valley in France, to be based in a trip around there?
Q. I'm going to the Loire Valley and I want to choose a charming city in the region to book a hotel. I'm going to stay there for some days and I like that feel of small towns that are lively, with nice places to eat, drink, etc. To give a reference, I loved Bruges in Belgium or Siena and Sirmione in Italy. Anybody could help choose the city?

A. Angers is a really nice city, with a lot to visit (castle, cathedral, distillery of Cointreau, Tapestry of the apocalypse, tapestry of Jean Lurçat...), and also a lot of pubs, restaurants...
The country outside Angers is really nice, with small villages near the Loire, it's great to eat fishes in a guinguette, watching the sunset on the Loire !
